THE FULL STORY

My name is Dawnyelle Audrey Santos, and I currently live in Queens, New York where I earned my Bachelor's in Design at Queens College.
I have a strong interest in vectors when I'm branding, creating logos, and designing characters. Drawing illustrations with a dark fantasy genre and fashion designs are one of my favorite things to do in my spare time, especially when I incorporate them into the characters I have created. Recently, I learned 3D Modeling and with lots of practice and invested time, I've grown to love it.
Right after graduation, I decided to stay close to home and began to work as a graphic design intern in fashion. My first experience was at SRG Fashion in Astoria, an company that manufactures men's formal suits and accessories. I've only worked under SRG Fashion for a brief period, but I was able to design many prints to advertise their company to future clients, even designing a swatch book to showcase their most popular suits and accessories.

Soon, I started as an intern at Treliss Worldwide in the Diamond District of Manhattan, a company that specializes in sourcing, cutting, and manufacturing rough diamonds to finished jewelry. Now that I'm currently working there as a full-time designer, I have been creating layouts for presentations and their websites, and branding for their jewelry line, House of Virtruve.

Outside of the art field, my hobbies include keeping myself active. I love going on power walks and jogs, learning new dance routines, and traveling. I've lived in New York City all my life. Despite exploring other parts of the world, I know that there will always be something somewhere that I haven't yet discovered.

I can be a perfectionist when it comes to my work, but I'm a very curious and motivated person who is always open to new ideas. Whether it's a place or hobby, being able to find it is always one of the best feelings to have, especially when I know it'll spark my interest or simply inspire me.

The same goes with graphic design– Graphic design is one of my passions, and I'm willing to learn more about what the field offers. If it's something I've never designed before or taking on a huge responsibility, I'm open for a challenge and being exposed to such experiences. And in the future, I want to pass on what I've learned to those who want to pursue this career.
